Crew Brief on Android

On Android, Crew Brief runs in your phone’s browser. It reads your schedule from the crew portal while you are logged in, and keeps everything on your phone. Nothing to sign up for, and no password is saved anywhere.

Use one browser for both Crew Brief and the crew portal. Pick one of the two ways below.

A. Firefox + Tampermonkey

Chrome on Android can’t use extensions, so automatic sync needs Firefox.

1. Install Firefox

  1. In the Play Store, search for Firefox and install Firefox Fast & Private Browser by Mozilla.

2. Add Tampermonkey to Firefox

  1. In Firefox tap ⋮ › Extensions (or Add-ons) › Manage extensions.
  2. Find Tampermonkey (if it’s not listed, tap “Find more extensions”) and tap + / Add to Firefox.
  3. Tap Add on the permission prompt.

3. Install the sync script

  1. Open this page in Firefox and tap the button below.
  2. When the Tampermonkey page shows Crew Brief Auto Sync, tap Install.
Install the sync script

New versions install by themselves after this. Set up before October 22? Tap this button once in Firefox to reinstall — updates now come from a new address.

4. Open Crew Brief and bookmark it

  1. In Firefox open https://ygfa2000.github.io/crewbrief/en/, then tap ⋮ › ☆. Open the app from this bookmark from now on.

5. Sync: tap ↻ Update

  1. Tap ↻ Update at the top of Crew Brief. The schedule page opens.
  2. The first time, log in to the crew portal. Sync continues after you log in.
  3. A black box (“Done — N trips …”) appears and you’re back in Crew Brief.

That’s it. From now on just tap ↻ Update.

B. Chrome + CB Sync bookmark

1. Open Crew Brief and bookmark it

  1. In Chrome open https://ygfa2000.github.io/crewbrief/en/, then tap ⋮ › ☆.

2. Copy the sync code

  1. At the bottom of Crew Brief open How to sync, tap the text box, long-press, Select all › Copy. It starts with javascript: — copy all of it.

3. Make the “CB Sync” bookmark

  1. Open any other page (for example google.com) and tap ⋮ › ☆.
  2. On the “Bookmarked” bar that appears, tap Edit.
  3. Name it CB Sync, clear the URL and paste the code. Tap ← to save.

4. Sync: Update, then type “CB Sync”

  1. Tap ↻ Update in Crew Brief. The schedule page opens (log in if asked).
  2. Tap the address bar and type CB Sync.
  3. In the list, tap the ☆ CB Sync bookmark — not a search suggestion.
  4. A black box appears and you’re back in Crew Brief.

Android Chrome won’t run this kind of bookmark from the bookmarks menu. Typing its name is the only way.

If it doesn’t work

  1. No black box on the schedule page — A: in Firefox ⋮ › Extensions › Tampermonkey, check that both the extension and “Crew Brief Auto Sync” are on. B: make sure you tapped the ☆ CB Sync bookmark, not a search suggestion.
  2. “Login required” — your crew portal login expired. Log in again in the same browser, go back to Crew Brief and tap ↻ Update.
  3. “No release yet” — releases come out about 1 hour before departure, and only yesterday’s and today’s are shown. Sync again after the release is out.
  4. Nothing shows in another browser — data is saved only in the browser you synced with.

Menu names can differ a little by phone and app version. A personal tool, not an official company product — always check against the official release, ATIS and ACARS.
